{Recipes}: Coffee Ice Cream

Nothing screams summer more than homemade ice cream and after seeing Holly’s post about making some homemade ice cream in her new ice cream maker all I could think about was the creamy cold delish-ness that is ice cream.

I don’t own an ice cream maker, but when I was visiting my dad he had just gone out and bought the same one Holly did! YES! The stars have aligned!

And of course we wanted to make coffee ice cream first! Yes, I love many other flavors too, but this sounded to simple to not make.

The ice cream maker was small but made plenty and only took about 30 minutes to make and then freeze briefly if you want it right away or save for later!

We poured all of the ice cream into little personal Tupperware for an easy treat anytime!

Coffee Ice Cream from The Cuisine Art Ice Cream Manual

  • 1 cup whole milk, chilled
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons instant coffee
  • 2 cups heavy cream, chilled
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

In a medium bowl with a mixer on low, combine milk, sugar and coffee until dissolved. Stir in cream and vanilla. Turn on ice cream maker and pour in mixture and mix until thick-about 25 to 30 minutes. Freeze for 2 hours or more in container or in individual containers.

Now put on some sun screen, eat some ice cream and enjoy the sun!
